Documentary photography rooted outdoors

Life, as it unfolds

Ay up, I’m Adam, a documentary photographer based in North Yorkshire. I work with individuals, independent brands and organisations to create honest, place-rooted visual stories.

The Approach

  • Two people smiling and playfully wrestling or having fun outdoors on sandy ground, with a blurry nature background

    Stories of people

Honest, environmental portraits of people as they are, natural, grounded, and unforced. I observe more than I direct, creating images that reflect presence over pose.

  • A row of houses on a hillside at dusk, with dark green hills in the background and purple flowers in the foreground.

    Stories of place

Your space tells a story, of design, place, and feeling. I create natural, atmospheric visual storytelling for spaces with purpose, from cabins and retreats to venues and community spaces.

  • Aerial view of a sandy beach with ocean waves crashing onto rocks and shore.

    Stories from above

Sometimes, a shift in perspective is all it takes to see the story more clearly. With aerial photography and video, I capture the scale and shape of a place, its setting, stillness, and movement, without losing sight of the people within it.

You want photographs that feel like the moment, quiet, wild, joyful or still.

Not posed. Not perfect. Just honest.

That’s the work I love.
